Mathieu Renard travaille sur le détournement et le parasitage d'images -photographies, illustrations...- et de mots, leur conférant ainsi un nouveau sens et une nouvelle portée esthétique. Inscrit dans une remotivation de différents courants artistiques, son travail appelle des relectures de l'Histoire, que celle-ci soit politique, sociale ou artistique, et transfigure ces réels. Il s'agit aussi de porter un regard sur les tics et stéréotypes de notre civilisation.
Particulièrement sensible au support papier, aux modes d'impressions et de reproductibilité, il a notamment publié quatre mains avec la documentation céline duval, édition spéciale n°1 aux zédélé éditions, Delta chez John Magazine et Summer Boys chez Pin Up Badges. Né en 1974, Mathieu Renard travaille à Rennes. Il est le fondateur de LENDROIT Galerie.

Mathieu Renard works with intrusive appropriation of images -photographs, illustrations...- and words, thus giving them a new meaning and a new aesthetic range. Dedicated to various current trends in art, his work calls upon a re-reading of History, whether it be political, social or artistic, and alters these actualities. He calls upon a re-examination of the habits and stereotypes of our civilization.
Particularly fond of working with paper, with methods such as printing and reproducability, he published Four-Hands with Céline Duval documentation, Edition Spéciale n°1 with Zédélé Editions, Delta with John Magazine and Summer Boys with Pin Up Badges.
